Room Based Counselling

When people think of counselling they probably imagine two people sat opposite one another in a room.  This more traditional approach to setting provides a clearly boundaried physical area that is safe and secure.  I have access to a therapeutic room that  enables me to work in privacy with clients who want to meet face to face but feel that being outside maybe leave them feeling vulnerable.

Possible advantages:

  • A feeling of safety from being in a traditional counselling environment.  If you have had counselling before, then this may offer a sense of being grounded in a way of working that feels comfortable.

Possible disadvantages or difficulties:

  • There are no explicit disadvantages to this way of working.
